Michigan

I was born and raised in Big Rapids, Michigan—just a small-town girl who grew up between farm fields and lake days. My grandparents’ farm was only a few miles from home, and most of my childhood was spent outdoors, exploring, riding four-wheelers or dirt bikes, and soaking up those long summer days. When I wasn’t outside, you could find me curled up with a good book, dreaming about the world beyond my little hometown.

The day after high school, I packed up and left Michigan, certain I needed to see more—and escape the cold (because let’s be honest, I still hate winter). But no matter where I go, Michigan will always feel like home. It’s a state full of surprises—stunning beaches along the Great Lakes, endless forests, charming small towns, and cities full of creativity and grit. From Detroit to Mackinac Island and everywhere in between, there’s just something special about being back. The U.P. is also stunning, but I haven’t had the opportunity to go explore it yet.

Now that I’m older (and have a camera and a blog), I’m revisiting the places that shaped me and exploring the corners I never got to see growing up. This page is where I’ll share my favorite Michigan memories, weekend adventures, and stories from the mitten that will always have my heart.
