Germany

My first visit to Germany was in 2015 when I stayed with my best friend in Stuttgart for a super fun summer full of laying in the park, beach visits, parties and clubs, and making memories. I was fortunate enough to re-visit again in 2023 for a longer, very different experience through multiple cities including Berlin, Heidelberg, and Munich.

Germany is a large country, covering about 138,000 mi². Although not the largest country in Europe by land mass, Germany has the 2nd largest population in Europe.

Politics: The Federal Republic of Germany is organized as a federal and parliamentary democracy

National Currency: Euro

Population: Over 85 million people!

Language(s): Primary – German, but English was spoken everywhere I visited!

Fun Facts: Germans love pretzels (or really any bread) and beer (that’s not just a stereotype)! Octoberfest is something everyone should experience at least once in their lives! I love beer and I love breweries so Germany is basically heaven on earth in that aspect.

There are many dialects of German which makes it hard for Germans to even understand each other sometimes, think southern accents to northerners in the U.S.! Or even UK English persons speaking English to Americans.. sometimes it’s hard.

There are over 2,000 castles in Germany, so if you’re a lover of castles, you could spend a good amount of time doing a castle tour around the country.

I will post articles below about my experiences exploring Germany by bus, rail and car!

Germany’s history is obviously very prevalent in the history of the world, but I’m not much of a history buff so I apologize in advance if that’s what you’re looking for… although, I’m sure there’s a blog for that (or hundreds)!

Coming Soon…
