Florida
I grew up in Michigan, which means I knew a lot of people who visited Florida for Spring Break or in the winter to escape the horrible, cold temperatures, but I never really had the chance to visit until I was in college.
My first visit to Florida was in 2013 on an Alternative Spring Break trip through my university. We completed a week of service in Orlando at Give Kids the World Village, which is an amazing organization that gives kids with critical illnesses a chance to visit this resort with their families for week-long vacations at no cost. I will definitely be writing a post about this soon, so look forward to that.
I was able to visit again on a personal trip that I’d love to tell you all about, but on that trip, I stopped at Universal Studios! (blog post coming about that!)
I later visited Hollywood, FL with my best friend on a weekend getaway and we absolutely loved it. I actually loved it so much, I went back a few years later with my boyfriend at the time and we stayed in Hollywood for a weekend while visiting for a Miami Dolphins game.
In addition to Orlando, Kissimmee, Miami, and Hollywood, we road-tripped our way from Texas to Pensacola for my best friend’s birthday in 2022.
All of the above visits deserve their own posts, so look forward to those coming in the future!
