Everything You Need to Know about the San Antonio CityPASS
Thinking about visiting San Antonio, making your must-visit list, and seeing the final price of it all – SCARY! With the San Antonio CityPASS, you can save up to 35% on entrance fees to popular museums and attractions around the city. In this post, I’ll be sharing everything you need to know about obtaining and using your San Antonio CityPASS!
What is CityPASS?
CityPASS is your golden ticket to the best attractions a city has to offer, all bundled up in a neat, cost-effective package. It’s a mobile pass that gives you access to multiple attractions just by showing your pass. For those looking to make the most out of their travel budget, this is an easy way to save money and not have to hassle with individual entrance fees for each attraction.
There are CityPASSes available across the U.S.A. in multiple major tourist cities, the San Antonio CityPASS is just one of the options!
What’s Included in the San Antonio Texas CityPASS?
Let’s break down the tourist attractions that come with the San Antonio Texas CityPASS. The pass only allows you one-time entrance to FOUR of the below-listed attractions. If you want to visit more than four, I advise you to use the pass for the most expensive options and pay for the others.
1. San Antonio Museum of Art
Travel the world at the San Antonio Museum of Art. SAMA’s collections include ancient Greek, Roman, and Egyptian art, Asian art, and contemporary art. The Latin American art wing includes the largest collection of popular art in the US!
2. Go Rio San Antonio River Cruises
GO Rio River Cruises offers you the best way to discover what makes the river the soul of the city. Embark, explore, and escape on one of our colorful barges while getting intimately connected with San Antonio’s rich history and colorful culture. The tours are narrated and last about 35 minutes.
3. San Antonio Zoo
The San Antonio Zoo is a jungle of excitement, perfect for creating lasting memories with your loved ones. This family-friendly park offers a chance to feed giraffes, ride a carousel, and visit with lions, tigers, and bears!
4. San Antonio Botanical Garden
The San Antonio Botanical Garden is a museum of plants, a tranquil escape, a living classroom, a research conservation facility, and an entertainment venue. From classes to special events to world-class exhibitions to new plants, life is always in full bloom at the Garden!
5. The DoSeum
For those traveling with little ones, The DoSeum is a haven that blends education with entertainment. As a discovery museum, learning is hands-on and exhibits are all interactive encouraging your children to explore and be creative.
6. Tower of the Americas
Standing at 750ft tall, the Tower of The Americas provides visitors with the best view of downtown San Antonio. You can enjoy full panoramic views from the observation deck at the top of the building. If you’re looking for fine dining, you can also make a reservation at the revolving Chart House Restaurant to enjoy a spectacular city view while you dine.
*dinner reservations are not included in the CityPASS.
Insider Advice: DO NOT PARK at the Tower of the Americas parking lot. It’s overpriced (flat fee of $20) and there are plenty of options within a 5-minute walk of that parking lot that will save you $$$. I chose to park at the Hemisfair Garage, which was about a 5-minute walk away from the tower. The first 30 minutes are free and it’s $2.00/hour after with a max fee of $18.
7. The Witte Museum
The Witte Museum blends nature, science, and culture through educational sessions and installations at the museum. It’s San Antonio’s most visited museum with hundreds of thousands of visitors per year!
Why CityPASS Is A Great Option for All Travelers

Of course! Don’t forget, there are city passes for quite a few major U.S. cities if you’re planning a visit! (:
I’ve been to San Antonio twice and still haven’t done one of the river cruises! Good to know they are included in the City Pass. Thanks for this post!
Same! I went twice before I decided to actually take the GoRio cruise and I think I only did it this time because my mom was visiting and I figured it would be easier on her to ride the boat than to walk the whole riverwalk. It was short, but the guide was funny and the information did not disappoint. I learned more about San Antonio than I knew before!
A great resource answering any questions I have on the San Antonio CityPASS! Thank you! Can’t wait to return to San Antonio!
