Czech Republic
My first visit to Prague, Czech Republic was in 2016 and I was fortunate enough to go back and visit again in 2023 for a longer, very different experience.
The Czech Republic is a landlocked country located in the heart of Europe, surrounded by Hungary, Slovakia, Austria, Germany, and Poland. Czech Republic, also known as Czechia became a country in 1993, but was originally known as Czechoslovak state which was established 1918 (per nationsonline.org).
Politics: The Czech Republic is a unitary parliamentary republic, in which the president is the head of state and the prime minister is the head of government.
National Currency: Czech Koruna
Population: 10.5 million (in 2016)
Language(s): Primary – Czech, but English, German, and French also widely spoken.
Fun Facts: Prague is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The country is known for it’s many castles, bridges, beer and architecture. There are also many world famous individuals from Czech Republic including, Franz Kafka, Sigmund Freud, Miloš Forman, and others.
