A Safe and Convenient Location
One of the standout features of this Airbnb was its location. Situated in a quiet and safe neighborhood, it was close to excellent hiking trails and just a short drive from Albuquerque’s vibrant attractions. Additionally, I knew I wanted to get outdoors a bit and hike some of the trails in the Sandia’s. The Airbnb is only 3 minutes away from Copper Trailhead where you can park and take off on multiple great hikes!
Being close to attractions and staying in a home that feels safe is very important to me as a solo traveler and this Airbnb provided me with the safety, security, and convenience that I needed.
Stunning Décor and Personal Touches
Walking into this Casita Bonita was like stepping into a thoughtfully curated space. It was more than just a clean, welcoming home, it was thoughtfully decorated to showcase the natural beauty of Albuquerque and the local attractions. The living room featured a breathtaking hand-painted mural of the local mountains, and framed photographs of nearby destinations were posted all over the walls. Each of the images around the home were available for purchase, which I thought was brilliant.
The host’s creativity shone through these details, adding a unique sense of place to the home.
A Room Designed for Comfort
The room I stayed in was compact but had everything I could need. The bed was comfortable, and there were multi-use chargers on each side, perfect for keeping devices charged, a small desk, TV, and dresser in the closet.
What really blew me away about this space was how much thought the host had put into what a visitor may want or need during their stay to make them the most comfortable they can be. Some of the things that stuck out to me were:
- A full snack basket for those late-night cravings, completely free of charge.
- A clean, cozy robe to relax in after taking a warm shower.
- A packet filled with local recommendations for dining, sightseeing, and outdoor activities.
- A wall full of pet-friendly recommendations including dog parks, welcoming restaurants, and pet stores.
The room I stayed in is best suited for solo travelers or couples without much luggage, but the home also hosts a suite with a larger bed, much more space, and a private bathroom for those needing more space.
An Outdoor Haven
The highlight of this stay? The expansive back patio has stunning views!! When looking for a place to stay I was in awe with the backyard/patio of this home. It was one of the main reasons I booked and it did NOT disappoint.
Stretching along the back of the house, the patio featured:
- Multiple seating options
- A hot tub for unwinding
- A firepit area complete with a complimentary s’mores kit!
Sunrise and sunset views from the patio were nothing short of spectacular and made this space truly memorable. I didn’t get a photo of either occasion, but here’s the view from the patio during the day. You can see the mountains in the distance after the city.
I’m sure there are plenty of amazing homes in Albuquerque with views that’ll leave you breathless, but in all my research, within my pricepoint, during the days in which I was staying, I may have found the Airbnb in Albuquerque, NM with the best views
Amenities That Make a Difference
This Airbnb went above and beyond with its amenities, making my stay feel both luxurious and welcoming. Every single room had little touches that made me think “This Airbnb owner MUST have worked in hospitality” because she left nothing unthought of. Some of the amenities that sold me on staying at this property include:
- Laundry Room: The owner offered free use of the washer and dryer, complete with detergent, fabric softener, and dryer sheets.
- Coffee Station: The kitchen provided a fully stocked coffee station including multiple different coffee pod flavors for the Keurig, sugar cubes, and multiple creamer flavors! I was so impressed. There were also pods for chai and over 6 tea bag flavors for use as well.
- Family-Friendly Games: There was a stack of family-friendly games on a shelf in the kitchen to bust out for a fun evening with friends or family during your stay.
- Stocked Bathroom: The bathroom was fully stocked with the necessities like extra toilet paper, towels, shampoo, conditioner, etc. but the home also had a cute female-friendly basket above the toilet as well as a blow dryer, cotton balls, Q-tips, and other things you made you during your stay.
- Donation Station: In the kitchen, the host had a basket with a note that said “Don’t throw away your leftover food! Donate it here. People in the street will be thankful”. To me, this shows kindness and made me appreciate the host so much more for being thoughtful.
These thoughtful additions made it clear the host genuinely cares about their guests’ comfort.
Who Will Love This Airbnb?
The room I booked specifically, is great for solo travelers due to its size and lack of space for extra luggage. It was comfortable, cozy, and well-stocked, but I wouldn’t book it for two. However, the home is a shared home setup, so there is a master suite that can be booked that comes with a larger bed, a much larger room, and a private bathroom. That would be ideal for couples, small families, or even two friends wanting to share a space. The suite also has sliding glass doors leading out to the back patio.
While the shared home setup may not appeal to everyone, I found it to be a perfect option for someone only staying 2 nights.
Why I’d Recommend This Airbnb
Whether you’re visiting Albuquerque for hiking, sightseeing, or simply a relaxing getaway, this thoughtfully designed Airbnb is an excellent choice. From its convenient location to its over-the-top amenities, it’s the perfect base for exploring all that Albuquerque has to offer. The owner’s communication before, during, and after my stay was more than I could have asked for. She was kind, informative, and genuinely seemed interested in ensuring I had the best stay.

Albuquerque, NM is a city I’d advise renting a car you’re not driving your own. There is public transport, but it doesn’t go to places like trailheads if you want to get some hiking in or do your own Self-Guided Mural Tour across the city.
I chose to rent a car through Turo.com. I have used Turo for other trips in the past and it is often the most affordable, although not the most convenient, and not the most reliable option. Speaking of affordability, Capital One credit card holders often get discounts when booking through Turo.com if you’re a cardholder, or wish to become one, don’t forget to use your discounts in the portal!
If you’re looking for convenience, I’d research options on booking.com, rentalcars.com, getrentacar.com, or expedia.com.
