Dream, Plan, Achieve: My Personal Goals for a Remarkable 2025

My blog is divided into three main categories, health and wellness, lifestyle, and travel. These three categories are not only my blog focus, but my personal goals for 2025. I’m not much of a New Year Resolution-er, but I am a true Sagittarius. A constant goal-setter and to-do list creator. Here is a list of some of the personal goals I’ve set for 2025.

Feel free to email me and check in on where I’m at with these goals throughout the year and hold me accountable. I set them for a reason!

Health & Wellness:

Gym Visits/Workouts – 315 days of activity

Maintaining a healthy fitness schedule keeps me stress-free and strong for when I’m able to get out there and hiking or backpack. I enjoy the “me” time and the way I feel about myself during and after workouts.

Chiropractor Visits – 2

Going to the chiropractor has so many benefits and every time I leave the office I feel like I’ve done good for my body. I’d like to visit at least twice this year just for healthy body maintenance.

Dentist Visits – 2

Going to the dentist twice a year isn’t really a goal for me as I’ve been doing it routinely for over 10 years, but putting it down on paper solidifies my commitment to maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

Lifestyle:

Books to Read – 22

In 2024, I managed to get through 34 books thanks to the Libby app and audiobooks. I do prefer actually reading a physical book, but I love being able to listen to a book while I’m cooking, folding laundry, driving, or doing another activity that requires my hands.

I do tend to read in spurts though, I’ll do nothing but read for three months and then have a whole 2-month dry spell where I don’t even pick up a book. It’s always been a cycle.

Minutes Spent Learning Spanish – 1500 minutes

I changed this goal from strictly Duolingo minutes to time spent learning Spanish because the ultimate goal is to learn more and be able to speak Spanish. That being said, I’ve started combining Duolingo and actual one-on-one conversational lessons which means I’ve been spending less time on Duoling than before, but a lot more time actually learning Spanish and I’m good with that!

Duolingo results from 2024:

  • 1244 minutes learning
  • longest streak 492 days

Duolingo results from 2023:

  • 1808 minutes learning
  • longest streak 191 days

*Duolingo sends you your “end of the year review” in November, so it doesn’t include December.

Money Goals

As someone who loves to travel and has started a blog to document travels, I’d like to continue traveling and guess what?! That requires money!

Each year I try to educate myself a little bit more on financial literacy and make any possible steps toward financial freedom. I’d like to not only be able to travel now, but I’d like to also make sure I retire comfortably and don’t have to work until I’m 80.

Some specific money-related goals for the year:

  • Finish updating my 1st home and get it rented out
  • Max out my Roth IRA
  • Add $5,000 to my emergency fund
  • Read ‘Rich AF’ by Vivian Tu, ‘Retire Before Mom and Dad’ by Rob Burger, and ‘Broke Millenial’ by Erin Lowry

Volunteer – 15 hours

I grew up volunteering and I find it to be incredibly impactful for communities so I want to prioritize giving back in any way I can. In college, I spent a lot of time volunteering and I’ve realized I volunteer less and less each year. That being said, my community still has a large need for volunteers and I’d like to be one of them.

In 2024 I had the same goal and I only accomplished 12 hours of community service so I’m going to get started on this goal earlier in the year nad really prioritize volunteering in my community.

Travel:

New Cities – 5

I’ve had a goal of visiting 2 new states a year for quite some time because I would really love to eventually say I’ve visited all 50 states. However, last year I didn’t visit any new states. I revisited California, New Mexico, and Louisana as well as took a cruise to the Caribbean.

Usually, I get to make most of my annual trips through my job and check states off my list, but this year they’re sending me to three states I’ve already been to – Michigan (where I grew up!), Utah, and Colorado.

That being said, I’m changing the goal for this year to visit 5 new cities instead of states. Those can be here in Texas or otherwise, but I want to be able to write about at least 5 new places on the blog this year.

NFL Stadiums – 1

I decided a few years back that I wanted to visit all the NFL stadiums in the U.S. and I’m working my way toward that goal one stadium at a time.

In Oct. 2023 – Jay and I went to the Detroit Lions stadium

In Oct. 2024 – Jay and I went to the New Orleans Saints stadium

This year, we’ve decided, we want to visit the Kansas City Chiefs stadium so that’s the goal!

KatelynnOutLoud Business Focus:

In 2023 I made $0.00 blogging and spent over $100 to secure my website domain name and hosting.

In 2024 I started tracking more stats and working more consistently on blogging. I still spent a little over $100 to secure my website domain name and hosting, but I brought in $62.00 and secured a paid experience collaboration that was over $200 in value!

In 2025, my goal is to make enough to pay for my domain and hosting (a little over $100) and secure another paid experience collaboration.

New Stats I’m Tracking and Goals:

Here are some of the blog stats I’ve decided to track this coming year to see my progress and push me to continue to blog:

Blog Goals:

  • Write/publish at least 40 blog posts all focused on the travel niche.
    • In 2023 – I wrote 40 posts including journal entries and book reviews
    • In 2024 – I wrote 48 posts including journal entries and book reviews, but more travel posts than the previous year.
  • Average 2,000 blog sessions per month
  • Start a newsletter!
    • This was a goal I had last year and I didn’t get to it. I still don’t really know where to start or how to get this going, but I want to keep learning about it.

Instagram Goals:

  • Reach 3,300 followers
  • Post at least 1 post a week
  • Post at least 3 stories per week

Pinterest Goals:

  • Reach 25,000 impressions
  • Get 200 outbound clicks to my blog
  • See below image for my 2024 stats

Personal Goals for 2024 Summarized:

I put my personal goals before my blog goals because my health is and always will be my top priority. I cannot do the things I love, like traveling, hiking, etc. without taking care of myself. My blog has become more of a priority for me in the past year and I’ve really loved to see the progress, so I do want to continue to work harder and learn more every day.
