If you’re a baseball enthusiast or just visiting Anaheim, CA, a trip to Angel Stadium to catch an LA Angels game should absolutely make your to-do list. This blog post will guide you through everything you need to know for an unforgettable experience at the ballpark. Getting to Angel Stadium in Anaheim

By Car

Angel Stadium is located at 2000 E Gene Autry Way, Anaheim, CA 92806. If you’re driving, there are several parking options available:

• General Parking: $20 per car
• Preferred Parking: $30 per car, offering closer proximity to the stadium entrances
• RV/Bus/Oversized Vehicle Parking: $100 per vehicle

If you’re like me and you’re always scouring the internet for deals when you’re traveling, I’ve checked all the reserve online parking sites like Spothero.com and there are very minimal options but it never hurts to check if you’re on a budget!

If you have a CapitalOne Credit Card, be sure to look at the deals section before booking parking. Right now, Spothero is offering 4% cashback.

TIP: You always want to arrive at sporting events early, but if you’re planning on parking at the stadium, this is especially valuable.

By Bus

While visiting Anaheim, I chose not to rent a car since I was mostly visiting for a conference and to go to Disney so I relied on public transportation during my stay. There are multiple bus options, but I chose to just use the local bus system (not express or out of town) due to cost and ease of access from where I was staying. I used Google Maps to figure out what bus I needed and what routes would be best for me.

To purchase digital tickets, you have to download the OCBus App but you can also purchase in-person, on the bus if you have the exact change (typically $2.00 per ride). I purchased the full-day pass because it is only $4.50 per person and includes unlimited rides on any OC bus across town.

By Rideshare

Anaheim has plenty of rideshare options including both Lyft and Uber. From my experience, Lyft tends to be the cheaper option throughout the city, but I would always advise checking both apps if you have them to pick whatever is the most affordable at the time.

Buying Tickets to the Baseball Game

Online

There are a million websites you can purchase sporting event tickets on including:

• The official Angel’s website <- probably the safest online option, but never the best deal.
• Ticketmaster.com <- great deals, I’ve used this site personally MANY times. This is an affiliate link so if you do choose to purchase, I will get a small commission.
• Seatgeek.com <- I rarely end up purchasing from this site but I ALWAYS look at it for seat views.

If you haven’t signed up for Rakuten yet, I highly recommend doing so. I’ve saved over $100 in the first year of signing up just from shopping online. Once you sign up, you can add the extension to your browser and whenever you’re online shopping it will pop up and let you know if the website you’re shopping at offers any kind of cashback. When I purchased my tickets to this game, Ticketmaster was offering a 3% cashback deal!

At the Box Office

You can also purchase tickets at the Angel Stadium box office. The box office is open on game days and offers a variety of seating options to fit any budget. As of this year, 2024, the Angels are not on a long win streak, so waiting to purchase until game day is typically not an issue at all if you are thinking about going last minute.

Tips for choosing seats:

• Behind Home Plate: For the ultimate viewing experience
• Field Level: Close to the action and great for catching foul balls
• View Level: Affordable and offers a panoramic view of the field

I’m a balcony kind of fan because I like to see the entire stadium from the higher viewpoint AND these are typically the most affordable seats. I visited on firework night which offered me the best view for that as well.

What to Bring to the Angels Stadium in Anaheim

Essentials

• Tickets: Having a mobile QR code is the quickest way to get through the line
• ID: If you’re interested in purchasing alcohol at the stadium, you’ll need ID
• Cash/Card: Food, drinks, apparel, and souvenirs are all sold at the stadium
• Clear Bag/Small Single Zippered Purse: As most stadiums do, there is a clear bag policy. However, Angels Stadium also allows small purses and has a single opening like this one.
• Sunglasses/Hat: Anaheim is sunny over 300 days of the year and often times the game will begin before sundown so do yourself a favor and bring something to shield your eyes!

Optional

• Baseball Glove: For catching foul balls or home runs
• Sunscreen: Day games can get sunny and hot so prepare yourself appropriately
• Water Bottle: You can bring factory-sealed water or an empty reusable bottle that can be filled inside the stadium. I always bring an insulated one so it stays cold despite standing in the sun for hours.
• Portable Phone Charger: I have one of these on me at all times, but especially if I’m going to be taking a lot of photos/videos
• Camera: To capture memories (note: professional cameras with detachable lenses are not allowed)
• MLB Passport Book – I just recently learned there are MLB stadium passport books on Amazon and they are so cool! If you’ve been to quite a few stadiums already or plan on visiting more in the future, this could be a cool memory keepsake.

Navigating the Stadium

Entrances

Angel Stadium has several entrances, but the main ones are the Home Plate Gate and the Right Field Gate (Gates 2 & 3). This is where you’ll be able to get your iconic Angels Stadium photo between the two helmets!

Stadium Accessibility

Angel Stadium is fully accessible for guests with disabilities. There are designated seating areas, restrooms, and parking spots to ensure everyone has a great experience.

Pre-Game Activities at Angels Stadium in Anaheim

Stadium Tour

If you have time to burn before attending a game and you’re interested in learning more about the Angels Stadium, you can sign up for a Pre-Game Stadium Tour. This tour, lasting about an hour, will take visitors to the Courtyard Statues, the Scott Spiezio Seat, The World Series, and the MVP Trophy Cases, as well as provide a behind-the-scenes photo op behind the centerfield rocks. Last but not least, the pre-game tour will allow early entry into the stadium for visitors to view pre-game warm-ups.

Tailgating

• No open flames/Coal-burning grills
• No glass containers
• No on-site catering is allowed
• Always clean up your area before heading into the game

Visit Golden Road Brewing Anaheim

Golden Road Brewing is a happening place for locals and visitors both before and after the baseball games at Angels Stadium. The venue has indoor and outdoor seating areas, is within walking distance of the stadium, and is a large venue to bring friends and family.

Game Day Experience

Food and Drinks

Angel Stadium offers a variety of food and drink options to satisfy any craving. View the Let’s Eat Location Guide here. Although there are many options inside the stadium, here are a few typical foods served at the stadium.

• Regular and specialty hot dogs & bratwursts (All over the stadium!)
• Quesadillas or Taquitos (Casa Modelo – Section 201)
• Nashville Hot & Buttermilk Chicken Sandwiches (Strike Zone – section 223)
• Tacos & Pizza (all over the stadium!)
• Domestic beers, craft beers, seltzers, micheladas, margaritas as well as soda stands, energy drinks, and even coffee to drink

The Angels Stadium in Anaheim is especially known for its Helmet Nachos (shown in the image below).

Although I haven’t tried any of the options, the Angels Stadium in Anaheim also offers gluten-free, vegetarian, and vegan options. Look here for restaurants and food stations with those items on their menu.

Traditions and Entertainment

Every stadium across the U.S. has its own unique traditions that the locals seem to know and the visitors get excited about being a part of. At the Angels Stadium, you may experience:

• Mascot – Rally Monkey: You may see people walking around with a stuffed monkey, this is the Angels Rally Monkey. Whenever the Angels need to make a comeback, you may spot the Rally Monkey on the big screen or being waved in the air by visitors.
• Fireworks: I love fireworks and was lucky enough to attend a Saturday night game, which for the Angels means fireworks night!
• Live Music: Before the games, there are often performances or live bands playing outside of Gate 5 if you arrive early and want some entertainment.
• Home-opener Flyover: The California Air National Guard’s 144th Fighter Wing flies over the stadium during the national anthem at the start of each home opener.
