Mexico
Some countries are really well known for one or two specific things, but when people talk about Mexico, I always ask where in Mexico? or what parts of Mexico because there are so many different experiences to be had when visiting Mexico. Living in Texas, I’m blessed to have a cruise ship port that goes to Mexico often on the gulf side and have heard many cruise experiences of visiting Mexico.
As a TEFL (teaching English as a Foreign Language) teacher, I’ve heard stories about people moving to Mexico to teach English in all kind of metro and urban cities – especially Mexico city, which is widely known for their expat communities.
My first visit to Mexico was via Carnival Cruises to the Cozumel and Yucatán (Progreso). One of my good friends invited me on a cruise for her birthday (which was my first time on a cruise ship as well) and we had an absolute blast.
I cannot wait to go back and do more exploring in this beautiful country. I’ve actually been studying Spanish VERY slowly over the course of the last year and a half to try to prepare myself to be able to visit the less tourist spots of Mexico. I started planning a backpacking trip years ago, but other things have come up and I haven’t felt confident enough (mostly because of language) to go alone just yet.
Mexico is about three times the size of Texas and located directly under the United States of America and directly above Belize and Guatemala. Mexico is home to mountains, desserts, rain forests, and incredible beaches!
